Deal With Stress Appropriately

Ninth, limit alcohol and tobacco products.  Alcohol, whatever your thoughts on it may be, is present at most holiday parties, and it can be tempting to increase its use as it momentarily reduces stress.  Alcohol, though, can have many negative effects, among which are adverse effects on sleep and added stress after the fact.  Cigarette smoking, while generally on the decline, is still something that people may turn to to temporarily reduce their stress, usually by increasing how much is smoked during the day.  In the end, neither is a long-term means for reducing stress.
