Being Heard and Understood

A consequence of being rushed through appointments is that patients often don’t feel heard or understood, or both.  Again, this is a natural consequence of traditional clinics being focused on volume of patient care.  There is only so much that can be accomplished in a given period of time, and the more that has to be addressed, the less time there is to address any given issue.  In my concierge clinic, I have the time needed to hear my patients, to ask questions, and to cooperatively explore options.
