Pillars of Health 6: Quitting Smoking: Part 2

When quitting, I remind and encourage my patients that it needs to be a daily decision, made and remade each morning you wake up, that you are quitting. During times of struggle, you might have to find creative ways to deal with problems for relapse (like using celery sticks!).  Quitting is an active process, not a passive one.  And while it may not work the first, second, or even fifth time around, it is worth it to quit.  In the end, the important thing to remember is to find something that works for you, commit to it, and get some help to keep you accountable.  You can quit!
