High Intensity Exercise

High intensity exercise gets your heart rate between 70-95% of your maximum heart rate, and can be maintained only for a short period of time.  These are bursts of activity with near maximal effort, things like sprinting in a run or on a bicycle, or doing High Intensity Interval Training.  This helps to improve your body’s ability to utilize oxygen, which improves your performance with low intensity exercise.

Remember: before starting an exercise program, talk with your doctor first.
