Monitoring Your Exercise

So you now have reached the point where you have an idea about what you are going to do for exercise.  A question some people now have is how are they going to monitor their progress?  For some, they will simply check the time when they start and stop on a regular wrist watch, and make sure they gradually increase that time, or write down their weights on a 3x5 card.  But there are now many amazing fitness and smart watches that can track most or all of the exercise they can do.  Garmin, Polar, Apple, Samsung, Fitbit, and others produce excellent products that can pair with other devices to give us more information than we might need.  I use a watch that will track my swimming, cycling, and running in great detail, and it helps me keep my training where it needs to be.  If you are so inclined, look into the different options available with your goals in mind and pick what is right for you.

Remember: before starting an exercise program, talk with your doctor first.
